We are looking for team members to join us for our fifth growing season in 2019! We grow Certified Organic seasonal vegetable crops on 1-2 acres, including a 3,000 square foot high tunnel, and manage 3-4 acres of soil-building cover crops. We sell at several farmers markets and wholesale outlets in the Washington, DC, region.
We’re looking for enthusiastic team members who are interested in Organic and sustainable farming methods to support the work of our farm (greenhouse work, planting, harvesting, weed management, irrigation, tractor work, etc.). Ideal candidates will be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, but also be comfortable with completing routine tasks.
We’re looking for someone who could commit to working from April through October at least two full days (including Friday or Tuesday, our main harvest days) or full-time (40+ hours a week). Team members may also assist at our farmers markets in or near DC.
If you are interested, please read job details and complete the application form available at this link: https://goo.gl/forms/bUsj1GaT65q9N6ni2
**Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis – we encourage you to apply ASAP**

In this weeks’ newsletter: what we’ll have at market + our BLC winner + a yummy eggplant recipe!
Check out what we’ll have at market in this week’s newsletter, then make something delicious with it (or any other yummy local products), take a photo and post it to Facebook or Instagram for a chance to win free veggies. See the newsletter for details and rules!
(All details plus what we have at market this week are in our newsletter!)
To celebrate the Maryland Buy Local Challenge week, we want to know what delicious meals you are making with the local ingredients you buy, and reward you with more yummy local ingredients. Here’s how our contest works:
- Take a photo of a dish (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks, deserts…) you make with local ingredients (veggies, fruit, eggs, dairy, meat, fish, etc.). We’d love it if some of the ingredients are from Dicot Farm but it’s not required!
- Post your photo to your Facebook and/or Instagram account between July 17th and Sunday, July 29th at midnight ET. In order for your post to be seen, your Instagram account must be public and/or Facebook photos must be public.
- Make sure you use the hashtag #dicotfarmloveslocal in your post. We encourage you to tag @dicotfarm and any local producers and markets whose ingredients are featured. It will also be helpful if you caption the photo with links or details on your recipe so we and others can replicate it! And veggie puns are ALWAYS appreciated 🙂
- By August 1st, we’ll pick our favorite post/recipe and announce a winner. The winner will receive $10 worth of free veggies next time you visit Dicot Farm at one of our markets! (We may also feature some of the posted photos and recipes in future newsletters or at our market stand)
We also encourage you to take the Maryland Buy Local Challenge in addition to our contest, and participate in the many events celebrating local food going on these next two weeks!
